A new trend is sweeping in, people are skipping hotels and resorts, choosing to rent homes instead for short stays, whether for vacation or for business.
Sacha Blanchet who owns five homes, uses them as short stay rental units. Blanchet says people are forgoing hotels and resorts for more comforts and amenities of home. "People like to feel more ‘at home’ and they like to be able to cook their own food," commented Blanchet.
“Most of the time, it's a lot less expensive, especially if you have to think of booking two different rooms for family if you have young children, or when several people have to travel for a conference," added Blanchet.
Over the years, web sites catering to individuals who are looking to rent a home, rather than a hotel room, have popped up on the internet, making it easy to book a property.
I see this as a new profits center for property portals. Homeowners can be supplied with a turnkey solution to rent out their homes. Furthermore real-estate agents can manage their clients this way, not to mention property managers. It also provides for targeted 3rd party banner adverting for other business.
Leaving your home to go to their home, it’s an idea who’s time as come.
