Next week be ready to notice some changes to the design of Property Portal Watch; your insight into the world of property portals spanning the globe.
Believing in the mantra of "if it’s not broken – then don’t fix it then it must be time to change"! We have decided to undertake a modernization of the look and feel as well as the functionality of the site. We think what we have designed, will make it easy to find content and get a sense of what is happening in the world of property portals and what the big stories are from around the major regions and markets on a daily basis.
The look and feel is more modern, and as someone commented there is a touch of Apple’s new iOS 7 feel to the tabs – no shadow or chrome here!
The news as it breaks is front and centre, although if you want to examine categories of news (tech, marketing, people) the drop down menu filters this for you.
The content is very clearly categorised by the major countries with the UK, US, Australia and India featured separately – this will be dynamic and will reflect the most recent activity in the global market. Then we break down the news from around the key regions of Europe, Asia, South America and the Rest of the World. No disrespect to those in places like Africa, New Zealand, Central America, Russia and Canada – we had to be focused, but again in time we may find more activity to create new regions. Just in case you wondered; a story about activity in the UK will not surface in the Europe articles.
There is a clear and important section titled Opinion and Analysis which will highlight those more informative, analytical and researched articles intended to bring insights and opinion pieces written by the team here and at time guest writers (if you have something to share).
A key focus on the new site is to provide the single most accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date directory of portals and the companies that own and operate them. This project is a major undertaking by the Property Portal Watch team and will not be ready immediately, but is something we will be looking to enhance over the coming months.
Credit should be paid to the members of the team who are behind this new site design. Jeff Consi is the man behind the overall design, with the team at DMA lead by Peter Shilling and also for here diligence in getting the content all re-aligned Gordana Andjelic-Davila.
To get the new site up and running live we will need to temporarily take down the site for a couple of hours. We are planning to do this on Monday 24th June between 9am and 12noon Australian Eastern Standard time. Operating out of Australia suits us quite well for this as you can see from the schedule below this window should cause minimum disruption. We apologies for taking the site offline but I am sure you will be pleased with the new functionality and look.
