In addition to the Property Portal Watch Conference being held in San Francisco this week, Inman News hosts its regular bi-annual conference ‘Connect’ – the intersection of real estate and technology.
Now in its 18th year and continuing to attract close on 2,000 attendees from across the US mainland as well as a considerable number of international guests, the conference has become a critical meeting point for property portals and tech companies as well as smart switched-on real estate professionals.
I will be attending this year’s San Francisco and I am grateful to Inman News for providing me with the opportunity to cover the conference which I intend to do with commentary and reviews of the critical sessions as well as meeting and talking to the assembled visitors who always provide rich discussion topics.
Whilst entirely focused on the Property Portal Watch it has come down to this last minute review of the agenda for the Inman Connect conference whilst on the flight over to San Francisco from my home in Auckland. What else to do for 12 hours!?
I sense a considerable change in the agenda for this year’s conference as compared to last year and the most recent years’ conferences as this will be my 8th Inman Connect conference. The focus to my observation has returned front and center to technology. Recent years had seen a move to a broader agenda which focused more broadly on the wider real estate market and the process of real estate from the broker perspective. This year shows all the signs of being a hotbed of tech innovation and inspiration, at least for the main sessions on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. The Thursday afternoon sees the usual break out into the focused areas of (i) Broker Success (ii) Agent Success (iii) MLS Success and (iv) Technology Success.
