The recent Barcelona PPW conference marked a significant turning point in the history of the company as it enters its 6th year.
It was the first conference held over 3 days - a major step change from the 1 day workshop format of the prior 8 conferences. It was also the first conference held outside of the US and the first held separate from the Inman Connect conference.
These step changes were well received by the community we seek to serve. The level of attendance at 230 was a testament to this support and the value of this event can deliver to an ever growing industry that seeks to learn from each other and discuss common issues, opportunities and threats.
As the industry grows, so we we recognise that the organisation of PPW needs to as well. We need to expand our resources and services to meet this need and thereby to be recognised and valued by our community. We have therefore made some key strategic decisions which I want to share with you as a demonstration of how we see the business growing in the coming year.
There are really 3 key platforms for the future of Property Portal Watch
These conferences will cover the main 3 regions and time zones of the globe:
Asia / Australasia - April
US / Canada / South America - July
Europe / Middle East / Africa - October
These conferences will be structured to provide a comprehensive and engaging 3 day event of value for all involved in the operation and support of property portals of all scale and type. These events are likely to attract around 200 / 300 attendees in professionally run events with significant keynote speakers from across the industry and the wider business community.
To achieve are going to recruit a dedicated researcher to work with us to help provide timely and insightful analysis on the trends in the market keeping a close watch on the industry and the core data of the industry; the key players and critically benchmarking between countries and within countries. This will allow us to be alert to the insight you as executives running property portals need to be examining and putting on your company’s agenda for the next strategic planning session.
Expect to see more chart rankings by key performance indicators, more benchmarking of leading portals and cross regional analysis.
Added to this will be the undertaking a research programme to create the most comprehensive dynamic database into the universe of property portals.
Originally centered in Australia, PPW now has its largest audience in Europe, matched to a fast growing base in Asia and the Americas.
To reflect this dynamic growth and with it the news that follows this growth we are going to establish regional editorial hubs around the world so we can better serve the regions of most importance and work with the key players and emerging players in-market in the appropriate time zone.
This expansion provides some opportunities to be a part of the PPW organization, full details of these roles are posted in our jobs section. Please have a think about anyone you know with the requisite skills, knowledge and experience who might be keen to work with us.
To this end we will be implementing a subscription charge to access some of the content on the Property Portal Watch site. The subscription will be US$350 per annum.
The new format of the site will provide a large quantity of news and information for free, in many ways this will not change the site or the value of the site on a daily basis. However to access the premium content - videos of conferences, interviews as well as detailed analysis, insight and research a subscription fee will be required.
The structure for the subscription will be as follows:
|Free Site Access||Subscription (US$350 pa.)|
|Daily email alerts||✔||✔|
|Opinion Articles||Digest only||✔|
|Analytical Research||Digest only||✔|
|Weekly editorial email summary||✔|
|Property Portal Directory||✔||✔|
|Portal Profile in detail||✔|
|Advertise a job||✔|

Detailed profile of a portal will be premium content, however there will be a comprehensive directory that will allow easy identification of all the portals in a country by type.
The job board will be free access to people looking for a job but a portal wishing to post a job must have a subscription
The collection of all videos and presentations from all conferences will be premium content. We will start with the Barcelona conference which comprises over 18 hours of video footage from 23 presentations and panel discussions
