Last week ZAP Imóveis, one of the leading property portals in Brazil, reported its FY 2013 operating results. Over the course of the year, the company delivered a 40% growth in revenues from the real estate segment to over BRL 60 million (USD 25 million), confirming a leadership position in this segment in Latin America.
According to ComScore, visits to the site increased by 133% over the course of the year. This is a direct result of the strategy designed in early 2013 after being acquired by Organizações Globo.
Zap Imoveis has strong plans for growth in 2014.
ZAP is also launching a strong online and offline communications campaign across TV, radio, and billboards in places where there is a high concentration of families (malls, beaches, parks etc.). Zap will leverage well known TV hosts and celebrities to promote the brand.
According to Eduardo Schaeffer, Chief Executive Officer at ZAP, “the plan for the coming year is to accelerate the expansion of ZAP's operations and consolidate our leading position in all regions in Brazil”.
This growth objective requires a new team structure and quality processes. “From 130 employees in 2012, we became a company with over 270 employees, launching new products every 20 days and being increasingly strict about the quality of our content and all the services provided to the market. Our goal is to make the most of the statistic database ZAP has and share this information. We understand that the more professional the market gets, the better for all of us”, adds Schaeffer.
