Fiji has opened it’s doors to the world with the country’s first serious online real estate website, property.com.fj.
This is big news for the Fiji real estate industry as it will provide sellers, agents and developers an opportunity to promote their properties to a bigger audience by enabling potential buyers and renters to find everything under one roof.
With property.com.fj real estate agents will be able to promote their property listings to a passionate local audience as well as a growing international audience that’s accustomed to one-stop-shop property websites.
Only registered real estate agents can list properties on the website and chief executive of the Fiji Real Estate Licensing Board Mr Ravinesh Murti supports this approach, saying: “Property.com.fj is exactly what we need in Fiji. It’s about time that Fiji had a trustworthy website for our real estate industry.”
The website launched on Monday 3rd March and in just 14 days the site has attracted more than 50,000 page views and is expected to reach more than 100,000 in the first month alone.
Property.com.fj Director Mr Traviss Orr said the launch of property.com.fj is an exciting step forward for Fiji and will help bring transparency to the market.
“Fiji is improving every day and the real estate industry is improving with it. But we do need to bring efficiency to the industry so that buyers, sellers and agents can take full advantage. Buyers can finally compare properties and research the market in one place," added Orr.
“If you’re selling your home, how do you know you’re getting the best price if potential buyers don’t even know your home is for sale? Your agent must be on property.com.fj to ensure you get the best price” Mr Orr also hopes property.com.fj will help foreign investors - who rely on the internet to buy and sell real estate - to invest in Fiji.
The website will have features that buyers have grown to rely on in other markets such as Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Email alerts, sales statistics, Google Maps integration with several other features planned for release later this year.
