iProperty Group Ltd, owner of Asia’s No.1 network of property portals in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore, announced that Seek Ltd’s CFO, John Armstrong, has joined its board as a Non-Executive Director. The Group has stated that, Armstrong is also taking on the role of Audit and Risk Committee Chairman.
Patrick Grove, Chairman iProperty Group said that Armstrong brings a wealth of experience to iProperty, and excellent knowledge of the Asian markets and their ongoing online development.
The appointment of Armstrong follows the December announcement that CEO of LJ Hooker, Georg Chmiel, would be joining the company as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Grove noted: “As the business transitions into a new and extremely exciting phase under new leadership, we believe John is a perfect addition to the board and look forward to what we are sure will be his extremely valuable contributions.”
Armstrong said, “I am very excited to be joining the board of iProperty Group. The company, whilst already the clear leader in the market, has enormous potential and I look forward to bringing my skills and experience to the board, and working with management to capitalize on the incredible opportunity the company has in front of it.”
In his role as Chief Financial Officer of Seek Ltd, Armstrong has overall responsibility for finance, legal and investor relations across the Group. He has over 20 years experience in various financial and commercial management roles and has significant oversight and involvement in Seek’s Asian operations and investments, including Directorships of SEEK’s business in China, Zhaopin, and SEEK Asia that operates across South East Asia.
