Home search platform Zumper, which raised $6.5 million in a Series A round of funding back in March, is now expanding the number of users who, thanks to the company's new Android app, will be able to search for a place to live.
At the time of the new funding, CEO Anthemos Georgiades said that Zumper pursued the funding with the aim of building the first ever end-to-end platform for home and apartment rentals across mobile and web.
“We built Zumper to increase the speed and efficiency of the apartment rental process for both renters and real estate professionals, and we spent our first year and a half getting the fundamental user experience right,” declared Georgiades in a press release. “But we have a much bigger vision, which this funding will help accelerate: to power the apartment rental process from end to end.”
Zumper’s platform touts over 500,000 active rental listings, many of which are posted using its tools at the property itself. As a result, users see the most recent listings, and can even receive notifications for apartments that fit their search criteria as they come online.
In just three months since the funding, Zumper has seen its traffic increase 400 percent, and it is expected to experience an even bigger jump in the upcoming months, thanks to the launch of its new Android app.
