Tracey Fellows, former general manager of Australian Post has been named as the new CEO of REA Group, filling the role left vacant by Greg Ellis last December, to head the German online marketplace Scout24 Holdings. News Corp Australia COO Peter Tonagh held the role of interim CEO in the intervening period.
Fellows held the position of general manager of communications services for Australia Post for the last 18-months and spent two years at Microsoft as president of Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.
REA executive chairman Hamish McLennan said in a statement to the stock exchange today, "We believe that Tracey is the perfect fit for the company and we look forward to seeing her apply her leadership experience as we navigate through the next evolution of our business."
Fellows is expected to start her role as REA Group's CEO in September, with Tonagh continuing as interim chief executive until that time.
"I'm delighted to have the chance to work with the team at REA Group," said Fellows. "The company's success in the digital arena is unrivalled and I look forward to contributing to the further growth and development of the business both domestically and internationally."
