Seattle-based MOD Pizza, which pioneered the "build your own pizza" concept, founded by Scott and Ally Svenson who built two other highly successful concepts -- Seattle Coffee Company and Carluccio's, just closed a $15 million funding round. What does this have to do with property portals?
According to Nation’s Restaurant News, some of MOD Pizza’s new capital comes from several new shareholders including Nigel Travis, chair and chief executive of Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc., and Zillow's CEO Spencer Rascoff.
The Made-On-Demand (MOD) pizzas can be found in 16 locations throughout Washington, Oregon and California, and they are looking to expand nationally. Much like Zillow, the company aims to be a great place to work and it already been recognised "Best Place to Work" by the Puget Sound Business Journal, as well as one of the "Top 50 Breakout Brands" by Nations Restaurant News.
