On July 16th the user-friendly vacation and short-term rental site announced, from the original apartment where the Airbnb service first launched, its leaders streamlined the announcement online, with CEO Brian Chesky communicating the emotions and feelings behind the new brand, as well as its mission, focusing on the idea of ‘belonging.’ Watch the video below, in case you missed it.
Airbnb prides itself in having created a movement not just a company, and it credits its users in helping it reach the height of success which it has over the last six years.
Along with the unveiling of its new look and feel, Airbnb has also enabled its members - the travellers and hosts - to have creative control of the new logo, stating that the Airbnb experience is too diverse and distinctive to be represented by a traditional logo or a one-size fits-all shape.
In addition, as a 'thank you' for being part of its newly redesigned website, Airbnb is sharing some hospitality with its users, friends and community.
The company has launched a campaign, offering a one night stay on them, put to USD100, and it encourages users to share USD100 with a friend. All rules available here.
