Property seekers using realcommercial.com.au often choose to search on the go – around 44 per cent of visits to the site and apps occur via mobile devices, resulting in a growth of 33 per cent compared to July last year1.
REA Group Chief Product Officer Henry Ruiz said the growing number of Australians downloading the realcommercial.com.au app is caused by this need for easy access to property information.
“Digital devices are now the primary source for information gathering and communication2. The realcommercial.com.au app offers users the opportunity to share and save properties with easy navigation in retail, office and industrial spaces,” Mr Ruiz said.
“Australians are now spending on average over 23.9 hours per week on the internet compared to 2.7 hours spent reading the newspaper and 1.8 hours reading magazines2,” Mr Ruiz continued.
“Our goal is to empower people by making the property process simple, efficient and stress free. We’ve noticed that Australians are increasingly using portable devices to achieve their property dreams with research showing mobile and tablets will dominate online screens by 20162.
“This is fantastic news for the app world, especially with news that smartphones are to become the most commonly owned devices by 20152,” said Mr Ruiz.
Demonstrating its popularity with users, the realcommercial.com.au app and mobile site were recognised at the 2014 Australian Mobile & App Awards (otherwise known as “The Mobies”).
