Brad Inman, the founder of Inman News, is reporting that Zillow is looking to sell its investment in software player Market Leader. Zillow inherited this business when it acquired Trulia, who in August 2013 paid USD 355 million in cash and stock for the business.
In his article, he brings up a couple of interesting points. The first is, if Trulia had done a good job at integrating Market Leader, Zillow is unlikely to be wanting to sell it. Secondly, he speculates at who may want to buy it? His first thought is that Keller Williams however believes that it maybe too expensive for them. His next thought is that NRT may like to buy it however its recent acquisition of ZipRealty may mean that they already have access to "more robust and relevant" technology.
Perhaps Zillow gets stuck with the business.
