Auction.com has named Bin Xu as vice president of engineering in the company’s Silicon Valley office. A recognized specialist in SaaS (software as a service) with 20 years of experience leading projects from inception to live operation, Xu previously served as vice president of engineering for Acxiom Corporation (NASDAQ: ACXM), where he oversaw platform engineering, and Angie’s List (NASDAQ: ANGI), where he managed member-facing products and experience development, quality assurance, and related technical operations.

Xu will lead Auction.com’s database and platform engineering teams and oversees technical aspects of the company’s auction control center and bidder communications.

In addition to his leadership roles at Acxiom and Angie’s List, Xu has provided his technical expertise to Cloud technologies, software and products offered by Huawei Technologies, Magnet Systems, the Odesk Corporation, WebEx Communications before it was acquired by Cisco, and five other technology companies. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from Cornell University, a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wyoming and bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.
