The 45-year-old has years of experience in the media industry and is a proven online expert. Since 2011, Konjack has been managing director of the official city portal hamburg.de, a partnership in which Axel Springer has a majority stake. Between 2006 to 2010, Konjack was CEO of the real estate portal immonet.de, which also belongs to Axel Springer. Before that, he worked as head of the Internet division and as project manager as well as investment manager in the business development of the German media group.
Axel Konjack has a degree in business administration and studied economics at Lyon University, which is why he speaks German, English and French fluently. He succeeds Heinz M. Schwyter, who is switching to the supervisory board of Homegate AG at the beginning of August.
