Brazil's Imovelweb has acquired the real estate technology startup Urbanizo. The purchase is part of the continued expansion of Imovelweb's business. With this acquisition, the company seeks to expand the innovations offered to the market so that users have more benefits when browsing the site.
"This acquisition is an important step for Imovelweb which will incorporate Urbanizo into the business and retain the knowledge of two founders. Our expansion has allowed us to be more competitive and attractive to the market and the expertise of this startup is essential to it, "says Mateo Cuadras, CEO of Imovelweb.
The Urbanizo was born of the need for its members to get reliable data on the real estate market so that they could make good decisions. "We did not have enough information to help us to define what would be the best property to invest. We saw an opportunity in this lack of data and the ability to offer a solution to this problem, helping buyers make the best decision when purchasing a property, "explains Marcos Martins, a founder of Urbanizo.
The little use of maps in Brazilian real estate research sites also sparked the entrepreneurial spirit of partners. "The geographical location is one of the key decision-making factors for those who search a property and our market does not exploit it the way it should. Americans sites use and abuse of this feature and work for the constant improvement of tools and their usability to meet their users, "comments.
The founders of Urbanizo will join Imovelweb and contribute to the portal's innovation processes.
