The application, developed internally by the technology team at Immobiliare.it, is the first app in Italy to facilitate the search of properties via the Apple Watch. The app enables users to set the parameters of the search on their iPhone and, when a property corresponding to the requested characteristics is found, be notified directly on the Apple Watch and allowed to view the ad for the property.
“In Italy there is a great expectation for the launch of the Apple Watch and in light of this, we want to enable the immediate availability of the real estate services provided by Immobiliare.it through the device," said Silvio Pagliani, co-founder of Immobiliare.it
"We developed this application because we believe it is essential to experience new devices from the outset to understand the use that people make of it, and to adapt our service to bring yet more results for real estate agents and individuals who publish their ads on our platform."
The app for the Apple Watch is in addition to others provided by Immobiliare.it, available on all major smartphones and tablets, and used daily by approximately 100,000 people.
“Technological development and innovation are aspects that we consider essential to better address the on-going transformation of the real estate sector," continued Silvio Pagliani.
"When we launched the app for the iPhone in 2009 we did not think that mobile devices could have an impact so explosive and so quick, and yet we knew we had to continue to innovate to be at the forefront in this transformation.”
Today over 20% of emails received by real estate ads published on Immobiliare.it come from applications, that percentage is almost 40% if mobile website is included. Based on what is already the case in countries with higher Internet penetration, these figures are set to increase rapidly.
