According to research by Rumah.com, property buyers in Indonesia take up to nine months to search and decide on the purchase of their dream home. As for property investors, the purchase process can be shortened to around four months as they don’t spend as much time on research. And one of the key reasons that contributes to faster decision-making is the engagement of a real estate agent.
"According to Rumah.com’s research, there are three types of property seekers in Indonesia: first-time buyers, who are looking to purchase their first house; upgraders, who intend to buy a larger second home to accommodate growing family size; and investors, who want to take advantage of property investment. The latter are generally familiar with the services of a property agency. With the help of real estate agents, they do not require a long time to make up their mind in purchasing a property. This is different from the first-time buyers and upgraders, which can take about nine months," said Ike Hamdan, Head of Marketing, Rumah.com.
Besides having good analytical skills and extensive networks between property sellers and buyers, real estate agents should also have good negotiation skills to help their clients get the best price. With the development of technology, real estate agents are required to market themselves effectively in the virtual world. According to IPSOS research, 45% of Indonesian property seekers find a real estate agent by doing research on internet, through property portals, search engines, and social media.
In order to meet the demands of property seekers, to provide them with the latest and most accurate information, real estate agents require significant support in their daily activities. Rumah.com’s most recent innovation, AgentNet applications in the Android version, seeks to address that. This is a continuation of the success of the previous version on Blackberry.
"Currently, there are more than 10,600 real estate agents on Rumah.com, and 90 percent of them conduct their real estate business on-the-go. We hope that this innovation can help the agencies to "move" faster in having their properties listed, responding to property seekers’ enquiries, and thereby achieving sales targets. By doing so, they can help more property seekers in Indonesia purchase their dream homes more quickly, "added Wasudewan, General Manager of Rumah.com
With Rumah.com’s new AgentNet application, agents can directly upload multiple photos of new property listing through Android smartphones and display them on Rumah.com. They can read and reply to messages sent by property seekers, on-the-move. AgentNet application is available on Google Play, for real estate agents who have subscribed to Rumah.com to download and use.
