Canadian real estate listings portal, Point2 Homes, attracted a total of 27.2 million visits to its website in 2015, a 60% growth compared to the previous year. Of these visits, 16.4 million were unique visitors.
The portal also delivered 152 million page views over the last 12 months, which amount to approximately 18,000 listings browsed every hour. The company has been particularly successful in its efforts to build a robust reputation in certain Canadian markets. Significant overall traffic increases were recorded in Winnipeg (up 160%), Surrey (up 113%) and Toronto (up 103%), and as well as in other major markets such as Vancouver (up 77%) and Ottawa (up 74%).
The results are partially credited to the enhancements the company made in 2015 to its mobile pages, which are now easier to use, faster, with less ads, and generally more mobile-friendly. Mobile traffic doubled in 2015, with 15.6 million website visits originating from mobile devices, 57.5% of the portal’s traffic.
The company’s efforts have been paying off to the benefit of all its customers, Point2 Homes visitors -- home buyers, seller and renters -- and also Point2 real estate agents and brokers who subscribe to Point2’s marketing solutions. In 2015, the portal generated over 407,000 leads for real estate professionals, a 66% increase compared to 2014 – a strong indicator of the website’s quality of traffic.
“Earlier this month Point2 Homes reached a daily all-time high in website traffic. Based on the traffic we’re seeing so far this year, we are expecting over 3 million visitors in January. In the year ahead, we’ll continue our efforts to generate more leads for our Point2 Agent customers. We predict that Point2 Homes will see an average of 100,000 visits per day in 2016. This is the equivalent of an additional 30% growth that should translate into at least half a million leads for agents in 2016,” said Jacquelyn Bauer, Director, Point2 Customer Relations.
