realestate.com.au is calling on all agents to take full advantage of a new functionality called Agent Search which will launch at the end of January. The new search engine will allow people to input what they’re looking for in an agent, based on location, property type and price range. The search results will include links to agents’ profiles on realestate.com.au.
How Agent Search will work
A study conducted by realestate.com.au showed that 81% of people on the site would research an agent online1, and the key consideration in searching for agents would be experience in selling a similar property to theirs2. This informed the development of Agent Search to include the search parameters of location, property type and price range. For agents to be best represented in the search results, it is important for agents to add a price to sold listings.
If a consumer does not input property type and price range, their search will return a list of agents with sales of any kind in that suburb or town in the past 12 months, in order of volume of sales. For example, the agent who has sold the most Richmond, VIC properties in the last 12 months will appear in the first position in the results.
Commenting ahead of the launch of Agent Search, Executive General Manager Residential Andrew Rechtman said:
“We launched Agent Profiles in December 2014 to help generate even more leads for agents. In 12 months they have delivered 9.55 million views3 and we’re expecting the introduction of search functionality to drive even more people to Agent Profiles.”
“The introduction of Agent Search will make it easier for people to find and connect with agents via their profile on realestate.com.au and there’s a huge opportunity for our customers to take advantage of this new feature, showcasing their capabilities to a highly engaged audience.”
“By providing all sold information, including price, an agent can ensure they are most accurately represented in Agent Search. They can also update their profile to highlight their experience, expertise and personality,” Andrew said.
What agents should do before launch:
1. Ensure that all of your sold listings have correct information, including sold prices, on realestate.com.au/sold
2. Update your Agent Profile to showcase your capabilities and expertise to a highly engaged audience
