Ukraine real estate platform Mesto is launching an international section to be supplied by the ListGlobally network of real estate ads, which is connected with more than 100 portals in over 50 countries.
ListGlobally will feed Mesto with properties outside the Ukraine along with associated information translated to Russian using the ListGlobally translation engine.
Mesto co-founder and CEO Ivo Perts (Pictured left) says the deal will fill the void in terms of the rising interest in overseas property in the Ukraine and create new opportunities for Ukrainian agencies looking to find international buyers.
“ListGlobally will enable Ukrainian citizens to search for overseas properties, plus Ukrainian agents will be able to publish in other countries, so people overseas can look to buy or rent properties in Ukraine,” Perts explains.
Perts says he and ListGlobally Director of Business Development for EMEA Geoffroy Reiser meet once or twice a year at Property Portal Watch Conferences. They both observed there has been an increased interest from Ukrainian investors in properties abroad since 2014.
“Investors are looking to make savings and diversify their assets,” Perts says. “There has been a threefold increase in the number of (overseas) agencies looking to buy properties in the Ukraine especially from the Asian markets.
“Also Ukraine has a big diaspora of around 10 million some of whom still buy property for their relatives in Ukraine.
“Such buyers might not get the same exposure to our advertising as locals since Google gives out results based on GEO location. We are hoping that Listglobally will help us provide the necessary leads."
Geoffroy Reiser adds partnering with Mesto.ua will reinforce ListGlobally’s network in Eastern Europe, on the back of other recent partnerships with City 24 in the Baltics and Domofond in Russia.
Launched in 2011 Mesto.ua started its life as a holiday rental site, similar to Airbnb.
“At that time the market was not ready
for a transaction style of platform but in August of 2013 we decided to pursue the general real estate market,” Perts relates. “Since then we have seen huge growth. Over the last 20 months Mesto has become the leader in Ukrainian online real estate."
The site now presides over 10,000 active agencies, 600,000 listings and received more than 1.8 million visits in February, 2016. Perts says visits are growing in double digits every month.
“We have a strategic partner – Boligportal.dk who joined us in December 2014 and helped us immensely with marketing optimization and overall guidance,” he adds.
Perta says Mesto adops the latest Real Estate trends as well as developing well known services and providing education.
A complete cross-platform solution, it provides the largest moderated listings database making it a major lead provider to both Real Estate agents and homeowners.
“For Real Estate professionals we provide unique suit of tools which include fully integrated CRM system and analytics on their listings among others,” Perts says.
While the Ukraine market is still developing, Perts says agents are willing to pay for online services. However as yet, he says there hasn’t been a dominant platform or market consolidation.
“But that’s what Mesto is planning to achieve in the next 1-2 years,” he quips.
“Mesto will become the dominant platform in Ukraine within two years, always bringing innovation to the market through our technology.
“We are the first and only platform to provide a full CRM, calendar and appointment booking, education for real estate agents and a good mobile experience in Ukraine.”
Plans for this year include improving the company’s mobile experience and launching a pay per lead model with new home developers.
“The new home browsing function will be something unique as it will be an automated interactive approach,” Perts enthuses.
“Users will be able see which apartments are sold on which floor, their availability and the stage of the development. If the development has webcams to show the stage of construction they can add that as well.
“We are also looking at other countries where we can replicate the success we have in Ukraine. World domination in 10 years,” he laughs.
On a more serious note, Perts says strategic partner BoligPortal.dk who joined with Mesto in December 2014 helped immensely with marketing optimization and overall guidance.
"Actually we first met at a PPW conference a few years back," he says.
BoligPortal.dk is part of the Danish Media Group North Media A/S which owns leading property portals in Denmark and Sweden.
CEO of North Media Online and BoligPortal.dk Henrik Løvig says he's very impressed by the results achieved by the Mesto team.
"Both parties benefit from knowledge sharing across our property portals in different markets," Lovig says. "This is a great opportunity for us."
