The company's Co-founder Nick Marr told Overseas Property Professional Today (OPP Today) recent changes to regulation of the UK rental market have left landlords feeling targeted by the Government with many are re-examining their investments.
According to Marr recent research by the National Landlords' Association shows 19 per cent of landlords looking to leave the sector which could result in 500,000 Buy-to-let properties coming onto the market over the next year.
"As well as concern about the impact of new government legislation, many landlords are concerned about the impact of a possible interest rates rise on their mortgage payments," Marr told OPP Today.
"The combination of all of these factors has really shaken the sector, and while more experienced landlords are already taking steps to mitigate the negative impact of these new dangers, accidental or newbie landlords are far less confident about their prospects for the future.”
Marr tells Opp Today the new dedicated landlord section will act as a one stop shop for private landlords, helping them market, manage and let all of their rental properties.
As part of the landlord section launch, TheHouseShop will also be unveiling our brand new listing process which makes creating an advert and uploading property details quicker and easier than ever before.
"Landlords can create a property listing in less than five minutes and have it live on the website in front of thousands of tenants almost instantly," Opp Today reports Marr as saying.
“As well as free advertising for private landlords, we will also be offering a variety of landlord related services to help our users through every stage of the letting process.
The new section will allow landlords access to their own dashboard where they can monitor their properties’ performance, handle enquiries from potential tenants, arrange viewings and order products and services, all in one place.
“We are really passionate about helping private landlords to get the most from their properties, and while we already have a variety of useful blog posts and articles on our News & Property Blog, our new landlord section will include a free downloadable private landlord guide, as well as mini-guides on specific topics such as how to carry out a Right To Rent check, or how to evict a tenant.”
Having focused on building up both private and agency listings stock, growing traffic levels and developing additional services TheHouseShop reports significant progress over the past 12 months.
It has become popular with smaller estate agents who struggle to afford the monthly costs of the big agent-only portals like RightMove and Zoopla.
In addition traffic has seen steady growth recently breaking its 1 million page views per month target.
According to the OPP Today report, traffic to TheHouseShop rental listings is dramatically outperforming traffic to sales listings, demonstrating the strength of the rental market and reinforcing the company's focus on the rental side of the business.
