A new Illinois, USA- based real estate brokerage Prelim.co says it's business will allow clients to do their entire home-selling or buying process online.
Co founder Ian Wright says the company is ready to bring the power of the Internet to the area real estate business. The office currently has four employees.
"We first started out creating real estate software for real estate agents to use," Wright told the News Gazette, a local online news service. "It was a strenuous process convincing people that the future is now.
"One day we decided, if they aren't going to use our software, we'll open up shop in the real estate business and use it yourself."
According to the News Gazette, Wright believes Prelim can help clients save thousands of dollars by following a nontraditional real estate model.
"We provide both the tools and experience to simplify the transaction to make for a fluid experience," he told the newspaper.
Wright says Prelim facilitates users to make an offer online, schedule a showing or get a mortgage without ever having to step inside a bank.
He says Prelim agents are experts not only in what to look for but where to look.
"Prelim experts monitor the market for available homes using tech tools developed in-house by Prelim. These tools ensure that we see each available home.
"We send our clients alerts personalized to their preferences. We send you a filtered list of properties tailored to you, making your house-hunting journey as stress-free as possible," Wright says.
The company handles escrow, closing and tours,.
The company is working with Craig Kief, a broker in Paxton and is partnering with Mortgage Hippo.
Prelim pays its agents a salary along with bonuses, equips them with technology and passes the savings along to the buyers and sellers through rebates and lower selling fees.
While the firm is initially working in the Champaign-Urbana market, Wright says Prelim eventually plans to expand to the Bloomington-Normal and Peoria markets.
