Realty websites Zameen.com and Bayut.com say they are the some of the first real estate portals in the world to collaborate with social networking giant Facebook on its latest ‘Save to Facebook’ feature.
The two portals, owned and operated by the Emerging Markets Property Group (EMPG), were named by Facebook Chief of Product Chris Cox as launching partners for the new products at Facebook's most recent F8 global developer conference in San Francisco.
EMPG, which controls real estate portals across the Middle East and South Asia including Pakistan’s largest property website Zameen.com and UAE’s Bayut.com, was one of only five launching partners in the region.
Zameen.com Co-CEO Imran Ali Khan says with the click of a button, users can now save their preferred properties on Facebook.
"In addition they can analyse listings in an organised manner and instantly share options with family and friends. They can also reap the benefits of this collaboration from their mobile devices," says .
“A seamless user experience is our top priority. Our engineering team worked very hard with Facebook’s team, which flew down from Singapore specifically for this," Ali Khan says.
"Given the popularity of Facebook among our users, we are confident that it will make property searching even easier,” he says.
Ali Khan adds this is the first of many more collaborations (with Facebook) to come.
“One thing is certain: we are well on our way to becoming a socially smart portal – which we believe is the need of the hour.”
