One of Myanmar's (Burma) leading property websites ShweProperty.com has signed an agreement with Singapore-based PropertyGuru to allow local developers to market to international investors and buyers using the products of both platforms.
The two companies say they plan to introduce more innovative products and services to the market, as well as run a series of major professional real estate and developer events in the Myanmar market including Singapore and other selected Asian and overseas regions.
PropertyGuru Singapore Managing Director Lewis Ng says his business selected to work exclusively with ShweProperty.com because of its dominant position in the market in terms of both consumers and major developers.
"At the same time, being a market leader with more than 16 million property seekers contributing to 116 million page views per month in our four markets – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand – PropertyGuru is best-positioned to help promote Myanmese projects to Southeast Asian investors,” Ng says.
"Mayanmar's emerging middle class and rapid urbanisation gives it the potential to be an exciting investment destination for real estate," he adds.
With over 700,000 consumer visits per month, almost three times that of other local platforms in 2015, PropertyGuru says ShweProperty.com is the number one real estate website in Myanmar.
The website lists over 25,000 up to date premium property ads all over Myanmar, which can be searched in a variety of different ways to find the right property for buyers or renters.
ShweProperty.com CEO Justin Sway sway confirms 2015 saw phenomenal growth for the business in parallel with the rapid growth of the internet in Myanmar.
"We have largest online traffic, far greater than any other property website and have the majority of all the major real estate agents, developers and sellers in the market," Sway says.
"This is a true testament that our property portal delivers exceptional value and results to our valued customers and consumers."
Sway, whose family migrated to Australia founded integrated recruitment and finance solutions provider FastTrack which achieved over 40 per cent market share in Australia, and had both SME and large multinational corporations worldwide as its clients in Australia and Europe.
With business experience in over 15 countries globally, he's currently JobNet.com.mm CEO as well as leading ShweProperty.com in his home country of Mayanmar.

The group received S$175 million investment, the second largest in the technology sector in Southeast Asia in 2015 - to support its innovation, marketing and further expansion in the region.
