Realestate.com.au has expanded its partnership with online inspection booking service InspectRealEstate to include the feature on properties listed for sale as well as for rent.
The companies launched their expanded partnership at AREC – Australia’s premier real estate conference – on Sunday 22 May 2016.
InspectRealEstate allows property seekers to pre-register for an inspection and be kept up-to-date via email and/or SMS if there are any changes to inspection times.
Since the companies launched their partnership last year, almost 50 per cent of InspectRealEstate bookings have been made through realestate.com.au's integrated RegisterOnline feature.
Realestate.com.au executive general manager Andrew Rechtman says the online booking system, which began with rental functionality, is an example of how the business is increasing its services to make the property process simpler for prospective buyers, tenants, agents and property managers.
He says that the move has been driven by customer and consumer demand for more efficient solutions to managing property appointments.
“InspectRealEstate is the leading industry product and we’re excited to be expanding our partnership," Rechtman says.
"Since integrating the feature into our rental listings last year, we’ve already seen more than 915,000 inspections booked by prospective tenants.
"It’s terrific to see that we can now roll out this functionality to make searching for property that little bit easier for buyers as well.”
Biggin & Scott Sub Franchisor Adam Flynn believes people are often searching for property in between other tasks, so the reminder system has been incredibly useful as it allows consumers to pre-register for an inspection.
"The hard work is taken out of the equation and we’ve found the response to be incredibly positive – both in terms of a consumer experience, and gaining a good understanding of the level of interest in a particular property,” he says.
