Singapore-based online property company PropertyGuru Group will launch 360º virtual reality as a new way to showcase property during its third annual PropertyGuru Great Singapore Specials (PGSS) roadshow.
An industry first for Singapore, the company says its virtual reality showroom aims to help property seekers "better visualize a property that is still under construction or in the pre-selling stage".
While developers have previously offered 360º video or virtual tours, thee company says its technology will mark the first time property seekers are able to put themselves in the planned environment.
"Property seekers can put on a pair of virtual reality goggles and move their head in any direction to explore a simulated tour of a showflat, just as they would if they were inspecting the property in real life," explains Chief Marketing Officer Bjorn Sprengers.
"It makes for a truly immersive and intuitive viewing experience."
PropertyGuru will launch the VR functionality during a series of roadshows planned in three malls across Singapore.
Real estate agents and experts will also be available on ground to provide advice on the local real estate scene, as well as insights on finding the ideal property for new property hunters or people wishing to upgrade.
“With a platform like the PGSS roadshow, we help prospective buyers identify the smart buys in the market, by providing them unbiased reviews of the latest launches and exclusive discounts from participating developers," Sprengers says.
"On top of that, we use new technology to showcase an industry-first in Singapore – a mobile Virtual Reality Showroom - to redefine the home buying experience.
"This initiative represents a leap forward for the real estate industry," he adds.
