Indian real estate platform RoofAndFloor.com has raised R20 crore ($US 300,000) from its financial backer Kasturi & Sons (KSL) to facilitate expansion.
KSL, a publisher which operates Indian newspapers including The Hindu and Business Line launched the portal in 2014 with initial funds of Rs 25 crore and about 6,000 new projects from leading builders in Chennai.
The site officially started operations in September 2015 expanding its presence to Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Coimbatore in under a year.
“In a short span we have been counted among the top 3,000 websites in the country," RoofandFloor.com chief executive officer Gowri Shankar Nagarajan told the Financial Express .
"We have covered four major cities in south India and more than 1,500 builders have listed over 10,000 new projects on our portal. We will start our operations in Mumbai and Pune sometime during the third quarter this year."
