Jamie Pujara, CEO and Co-Founder of Kenyan property portal buyrentkenya.com, has registered as the 200th delegate to Property Portal Watch’s Madrid conference – and received a surprise complimentary ticket.
“I'm absolutely thrilled to be the attending,” he told PPW. “I don't usually win anything so it's a pleasant surprise!”
Pujara, whose business was launched in August 2012, has been to seven PPW conferences and tries to attend at least two each year.
He said learning about new technology and innovations other businesses are adopting was the key takeaway from each event.
"From an industry perspective, I always find the happenings in Asia to be of great interest,” he said. “We are a little bit behind in terms of our market but we have similar demographics and challenges and it's always intriguing to see what is happening on that side of the world.”
And, of course, the chance to mingle with likeminded professionals is a pretty big drawcard.
“The networking is always great,” he said. “I think PPW has managed to create a great community for us in the business and I've found people very receptive to share experiences in their own markets.”
In Madrid, Pujara is hoping to learn more about the future trends of the industry, as he has already had to pivot his business model.
“I think the theme is very interesting: The Future of Online Real Estate Marketing," he said. “In our market we started with the traditional model and have had to make adjustments to suit the changing and different market conditions.
“I'm sure there will still be more to come and it will be interesting to hear what is happening elsewhere in the world.”
