Founded in 1995 by Perth native Richard Earl, Talent will own a 50% share in the joint venture alongside San Francisco-based company Coit Group.
Their first move will be to bring on 10 additional staff to Coit's existing 32, and the JV company – which will be branded Talent – will add two more offices in start-up hub locations, Austin and New York in 2017.
Earl told Australian Financial Review (AFR) Coit was regularly tapped by venture capital firms like Sequoia Capital, an early investor in Apple and Google, to accelerate hiring for its portfolio companies.
Talent offers specialised IT and technology recruitment services with an annual revenue of over $400 million. While they face competition from only-online job portals giants like Monster.com and Indeed.com, Earl told AFR he’s confident their new move will be a success.
"The commodity we are dealing with in this business isn't a commodity at all – it's people, and for something as significant as their career, most will want advice from other people throughout the process," he said.
