The latest data from recruitment research company The Conference Board could spell bad news for job portals. Their latest data series shows online advertised vacancies in the US decreased 360,200 to 4,537,600 last month.
Industries hit the hardest were healthcare practitioners (-48.6), computer/math (-28.3) and management (-24.7). The services/production occupational category saw losses in office/admin (-43.8), transportation (-41.7), and sales (-22.5).
The Conference Board says this decline could be caused by a decrease in demand from all four major regions of the US labour market. While a drop in the amount of unemployed people is a positive thing, job portals could experience a decline in their online traffic.
