To bridge the gap between recruiters and budding engineers, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) will now employ an app to ensure its students are picked by the best companies.
The app, Hiremee, which offers an assessment and video uploading facility, will enable students to overcome their fear of interviews. The move is part of the university's centralized recruitment programme.
On Thursday, VTU signed an MoU with Hiremee for free assessment of final-year students of the 202 colleges affiliated to it. Hiremee, a web portal and app, connects the corporate world with academic institutions for faster and easier placements across India. The idea is to create a pool of eligible students from VTU with no cost to the stakeholders.
"Hiremee teams will conduct a 100-minute proctored computer-based test for graduating students on college premises using its proprietary assessment application. This will enable students to identify improvement areas, bridge skill gaps and enhance their employability," said VTU vice-chancellor Karisiddappa.
