Mumbai-based automotive startup Carcrew.in has just raised $500,000 in a new round of angel funding thanks to contributions from TVS Group, Punit Goyal, Rajesh Agarwal, and Ketan Kothari.
Carcrew is a technology platform for aftermarket sales and services of automobiles. But it offers a wide range of products and services including cleaning and detailing to regular maintenance, from running repairs to breakdown services, and genuine spare parts and latest accessories.
The auto portal prides itself on having a simple sales process that almost anyone can use.
In an interview with Techcircle.com, Carcrew founder Vikul Goyal said, “our technology is under development. Our consumer app is in the beta stage. The automotive aftermarket in India is worth $15 billion, largely unorganized. Along with technology adoption, the recent demonetization move and implementation of GST will help in making a shift from unorganized to organized which will be good for the consumers and the industry.”
“The automotive sector worldwide is on the cusp of disruption with the adoption of sharing economy, electric cars and autonomous drive vehicles. We want to be prepared to lead this disruption in India with the help of technology,” he added.
