Mighway, a platform connecting owners of RVs with guests, is working with its owner community to provide temporary, discounted emergency accommodations for those displaced by fires in Northern California.
"With the generous help of our owner community, we have been able to provide RVs as a temporary housing solution to those affected," said Mighway CEO Dave Simmons. "We know there is a housing shortage already, and we still have many RVs available that can be accessed right away so victims don't need to relocate. The Mighway platform is normally used by travelers – but the potential to connect those in need with those who can assist is something we would always look to leverage in a crisis. This is a core benefit of the sharing economy."
As a business, Mighway has waived its service fee related to these bookings. It also has extensive insurance options to give owners peace of mind when lending vehicles. "My family is so grateful to Mighway for the assistance they provided when my sister's home was lost in the Sonoma County fires," said Elis Imboden, whose sister was displaced by the fires. "They went out of their way to provide her with a clean, comfortable RV that same day, which allowed my sister and her family to stay in the area while figuring out their next steps. They even offered a discounted rate and waived certain fees, which was a huge help given the chaos."
Those requiring emergency accommodation assistance should contact Mighway here via email, and best efforts will be made to find a suitable vehicle.

Dave Simmons adds, "It's hard to comprehend the scale of this disaster. For those who don't have a home to return, it's a long road ahead. We're grateful to be able to help in this way and committed to supporting as many people as possible."
