The days of boring two-dimensional floorplans on real estate listings are well and truly over.
Property buyers the world over are increasingly demanding new technology when searching online, and many will bypass listings that don’t make the grade, says Jeroen Bekkers, CEO of Dutch firm, floorplanner.com.
“Floorplans are, according to homebuyers worldwide, a crucial form of information and one in five buyers/renters ignore properties without floorplans in their first search,” he said.
“In regions like Scandinavia and the UK floorplans are considered a ‘must-have’ for a property listing but in many countries floorplans are still considered as expensive to produce and difficult to present in an accessible way.”
Floorplanner offers a platform where the estate agents can easily and affordably create interactive floorplans to make listings pop.
Bekkers says its online tools, Floorplanner and Roomstyler, are used by millions of consumers and tens of thousands of professionals worldwide to create compelling 2D and 3D floorplans and 3D interior renderings simply within their browser.
“The strength of our solution lies in a combination of a proven technology platform with a vibrant ecosystem of (semi)professional designers and over 120 larger service partners worldwide that together create more than one million new floorplans and 3D renderings each month,” he said.
“Powered by this ecosystem floorplanner offers a new ‘one-stop floorplan solution’ for property portals that allows agents to upload a photo of a sketch or actual paper floorplan and have a full 2D/3D interactive floorplan created with 24 hours (usually overnight) at a very attractive price point.”
Floorplanner began as a side project of Bekkers’ software company Suite75. In 2007 Floorplanner.com was launched as the first online tool of its sort that allowed users to quickly create 2D and 3D floorplans in their browser.
Floorplanner now has more than 15 million registered users worldwide and is the world’s most used online floorplan software.
Jeroen Bekkers is a keynote speaker at the Property Portal Watch conference in Madrid, 28-30 September. His address to delegates is titled: How Technology is Changing Listing Presentation. In it he will discuss how Floorplanner is working with property portals to change the way listings are presented to provide the visitor with greater engagement and the portal with better conversion.
