Referred to as the AirBnb of China, Tujia had an established partnership with Ctrip as well as HomeAway.
In a statement, Tujia co-founder and CEO Justin Luo was reported saying the deal was meant to give Tujia customers “a better user experience”. This will involve providing more choices and better services for guests, plus a simplified single platform for hosts.
The statement also hinted at more mergers and acquisitions by Tujia to “complete the industry chain.”
This recent move reflects Tujia’s ambitions to dominate the home sharing industry not just in China but the greater Asia-Pacific region.
