Solar panel ratings have now popped up on Zillow’s property listing pages, with the company advising customers of a home’s solar power potential.
The portal has added a ‘Sun Numbers’ rating on property detail pages for more than 40 million buildings, Inman reports.
The new feature rates a home’s potential for solar using a scale of 1-100. The higher the rating, the more suited a home is for solar and the more potential there is to save.
“In the past, getting an accurate solar assessment for your home required a visit from a solar professional who would spend half a day up on your roof,” said David Herrmann, a co-founder of Sun Number, which provides the scores to Zillow.
“But the technology we use makes that immediately accessible just by typing your address into Zillow’s website and looking for the Sun Number score.”
