UK-based accommodation site Student.com is focusing its efforts on the Australian market because of traffic data that has indicated Sydney and Melbourne are the most searched study destinations.
The company has recently hired a new growth and partnerships expert, Bede Moore, to focus on the site's Australian operations and he's tipped to be a 'rising star' in the world of student accommodation listings.
The site's revenue has doubled over the past year and the company says it's turned over $US110 million in gross bookings last year.
"Australia has the biggest growth in student accommodation anythwere in the world - it's an undersupplied market with huge demand," founder and entrepreneur Luke Nolan said.
