Registration of electric cars in Spain sees an increase of 180% in just one year
A study conducted by the Spanish Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Trucks (ANFAC) indicates that both hybrids and electric cars will mark the transition to the electrical whole in the coming years, with a market interest increasing with each passing month. Thanks to this latest study, we can see some interesting data in the sales of these vehicles.
According to the report, recently a total of 6,160 electric and hybrid units were registered in Spain, increasing the percentage of registrations by 75% compared to another recent period. This means that the vehicle fleet of the Spanish territory already has more than 5% of units with these technologies.
The most relevant part is that most of those vehicles are one hundred percent electric, assuming these the apparently insignificant amount of 958 units enrolled in recently. We say that appears to be insignificant because, despite not reaching the thousand, it is an increase of 180% from one year to another, which highlights the market interest in these vehicles, stimulated by institutions for incentives such as the MOVEA Plan. Without these plans, it is evident that the registrations would not have reached such high levels, resulting for the moment necessary inducements that encourage people to make a change as momentous as this one.
Hybrids did not increase as much during this period, although they achieve a not inconsiderable 86% increase over last year. Growth is led by the Renault Zoe and the Nissan Leaf in electric and different Toyota models in hybrids, where it dominates with ease. Nothing new under the sky.
Now we have to see, among many other things, if Tesla manages to appear within a few months somewhere in the list of best-selling electric vehicles, even in the last positions. Its store openings in Madrid and Barcelona will help increase the presence of these cars in the country, where there is also a movement in which Superchargers are concerned, fundamental at the time of the sale.
