Grab, the Singapore-based technology company that offers ride-hailing and logistics services through its app in Singapore and neighboring Southeast Asian nations, recently made a deal with the Tourism Board in Singapore.
A three-year Memorandum of Understanding was signed so GrabPay can be installed at tourist hotspots, along with other initiatives.
Grab and Singapore Tourism Board will begin advertising GrabPay at hawker centers, culture and lifestyle precincts, restaurants, shopping centers, and tourist attractions.
Spreading the GrabPay stands this way will give Grab and the Tourism Board insight on which places get the most traffic for the service.
GrabPay works with GrabRewards points through the Grab app which means tourists can use the hotspots without having to change to the local currency. At these hotspots, users can discover events and other experiences.
Singapore Tourism Board's Tourism Information and Service Hub will hold Grab's booking API in phases, allowing select tourism businesses to integrate Grab's various tools into their own digital platforms.
Grab will also be offering mobility solutions through its list of services, including GrabCoach and GrabCar Premium, along with Singapore Tourism Board's partners in the Meetings, Incentive Travel, and the Conventions and Exhibitions industry in Singapore.
