The Nesko application, in alliance with the Canadian firm, is now available in digital stores, but will start operating until the end of March.
The taxi drivers from Mexico partnered with the mobility app Nekso to recover the ground lost to private taxis like Uber and Cabify, and for this they will also offer their service through a digital platform - which, they added, created the tendency that at the time caused users to leave them.
Aware of the need to modernize to compete against this ecosystem, the National Movement of Taxi drivers issued a public tender to find a company to help them recover lost customers. The winner was Nekso, a Canadian company that offers technological solutions to the public sector.
Through this alliance, the group will train and evaluate its affiliated taxi drivers, in addition to supporting them with new units to once again become a preferred option for users against these transnationals, which from their point of view operate outside the law. The National Movement of Taxi Drivers was one of the main groups that opposed the entry of mobility apps.
The application is now available in digital stores but will start working until the end of March, with the aim of ensuring quality service from the start.
Nekso, which also operates in other Latin American countries, works in a similar way to the Uber or Cabify apps. The user downloads the application, registers, and registers some form of payment, selects a destination and a starting point; and unlike its competition, it will allow the client to select the driver (from among six options) with the one who wants to travel.
The payment method will be through credit and debit cards, as well as p2p technology, which removes the user's need to carry cash.
Nekso intends to start operations with 200,000 units, which already meet the requirements determined by the app and the taxi drivers association, and are part of the 650,000 affiliates that this group has.
