A recent chief operating officer at the University of Miami, Jacqueline Travisano has been elected to AutoNation's board of directors. AutoNation is one of South Florida's largest publicly traded firms.
The recent appointment was announced at AutoNation's 2018 Annual Meeting of Stockholders earlier this month.
Prior to being the COO and executive vice-president for business and finance at the University of Miami, she was COO of Broward County's Nova Southeastern University from 2011-2017.
"With decades of experience in operations, finance, marketing, and technology, we think Jackie will bring valuable experience and insight to the AutoNation Board, in particular as we implement our brand strategy," AutoNation CEO Mike Jackson said.
Considered one of the larger private employers in South Florida, AutoNation has 650 staffers at its downtown Fort Lauderdale office and a workforce of more than 3,500 employees. A Fortune 500 firm, holds its headquarters exclusively in South Florida, plans to hire an additional 95 more over the next five years as part of an incentive deal.
