Drivers in Austin, Texas will now have a new option to lease, purchase, or rent a car. They can now just subscribe. Mobilliti is offering this new transportation option and is the nation's first multi-dealer, multi-brand, national subscription platform.
By using the Mobiliti app on smartphones, consumers can search through the available inventory from Divvy Motors and pick a car that fits their needs and price range. Every car is priced based on its make, model, and mileage. It doesn't cost anything to become a user of Mobiliti, but to be approved you will need a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, and a credit card. Subscribers out of Texas will also need to be at least 21 years old.
"A vehicle subscription is similar to a lease, but without the things consumers dislike most about leasing, including long-term contracts and upfront costs, with the added benefits of bundled insurance, maintenance, and roadside assistance," said Texas native Chance Richie, Mobiliti CEO and co-founder. "We also offer flexibility. A customer can change vehicles every month or drive the same one for several months. This appeals to corporate customers on short-term assignment, active-duty military personnel, consumers needing a lower-cost alternative to long-term rental, or someone who simply wants to drive a different vehicle every few months."
Mobiliti has teamed up with Divvy Motors to use their inventory of 2017 and 2018 Ford and Jeep cars. Monthly fees begin at $549 and will include insurance, roadside assistance, and regular maintenance. More Austin and Round Rock, Texas dealer partnerships will be introduced in the coming months.
As the sale of new cars declines and used car inventory increases with every year, Mobiliti will help dealerships create new business by using their already existing inventory for their subscription-based service which will hopefully lead to more sales.
