Everyone wants discounts on services, but in Germany haggling over prices isn't the norm, according to Philip Sayler of Amende. He is currently attempting to create a new UK based car portal, Carwow, for Germany. Companies interested in using their platform can request to do so and customers can use it to compare and contrast different dealer's offers.
The Swabian knows the car trade from an early age. His parents ran a car dealership in Ulm, which now runs his brother. At 17, he founded his first company Find-car.de. Prior to joining Carwow, the man with the three-day beard worked for the American online car platform True-Car and oversaw the car industry at the World Economic Forum. The business economist with an MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong was already in the service of Daimler and Porsche .
Carwow is an eight-year-old startup that shakes up the car market in its British home. According to the company, seven percent of the British are now using the platform to buy their new car. The young company, which employs 140 people in London, is financed by venture capitalists and collected 33.5 million euros in the summer of last year. Sayler von Amende is involved.
