Genesys International Corporation and Wipro, a software focused service company, have partners up to begin creating new solutions for self-driving cars.
Genesys will utilize their main area of expertise to design and create highly detailed maps and other content, Wipro will focus on developing control and navigating programs for the self-driving systems and other smart mobility solutions.
Also along with this partnership, the two companies have developed a high definition map of Wipro's company campus located in Bengaluru which has allowed a Wipro developed autonomous car to drive itself around.
India's second biggest software services exporter, Infosys, recently conducted a test of a self-driving golf cart to show off the effectiveness of self-driving cars.
“Wipro’s partnership with Genesys will further accelerate the deployment of these solutions in the autonomous system space. This partnership enhances Wipro’s offering in the autonomous system market and reinforces our ability to support the initiative of our global customers,” K R Sanjiv, Chief Technology Officer, said.
Genesys is known to for their highly detailed maps that are very useful for navigation in vehicles and are now pushing to create maps all in high definition. They currently have high definition maps for 1200 kilometers of streets for a self-driving vehicle network.
