'Vikasa,' a government-sponsored agency is for those looking for jobs and/or wanting to update their skill set to meet the requirements of employers, bringing companies requiring manpower and their potential employees onto a single platform.
The agency originally provided contract employees to government departments, but now is a major platform that facilitates some 100 private jobs a day.
“In the last four months, we have provided employment to 16,000 unemployed coming from different educational backgrounds and residing in nooks and corners of East Godavari district. From 2014, Vikasa has facilitated 43,872 jobs as of date,” says project director of the agency, V.N. Rao.
Tata Consultancy Services and other organizations like it have been associated with these training programs. They send their trainers to help unemployed users get the skills they need to impress future employers. They have several global and local locations, including Foxconn, TVS, D. Reddy's Laboratories, and ICICI Bank which are choosing from the pool of bright and new candidates.
Now focussing on gathering and organizing exclusive jobs for the disabled, Vikasa is scheduling castes and tribes in remote areas. It's recent employment drive that gave temple priests workable manpower was received well.
