New York-based company that makes a healthcare job portal, Nomad Health has announced a new funding round lef by Polaris Partners wherein they raised $12 million. Other participants in the funding round were First Round Capital, .406 Ventures, and RRE Ventures.
“We’re building a marketplace for healthcare jobs,” CEO Dr. Alexi Nazem told MobiHealthNews. “We started out with just freelance doctor jobs, but it’s grown to include travel nursing jobs and telemedicine jobs. … We’re operating in about a dozen states right now and with this funding we’d like to expand into many more states with the ultimate goal of achieving total nationwide coverage. And then, additionally, what we’d like to do with this financing is enhance the feature set.”
Nomad uses digital tools to connect doctors and nurses looking for work to healthcare companies looking to hire them — filling the role that is traditionally handled by a staffing agency.
