Gudog, TappWater and WallyBoo are the winning startups of the first edition of the Womenup prize, a support program for women's entrepreneurship launched by Airbnb in collaboration with Impact Hub Madrid, the platform reported Tuesday in a statement.
Specifically, the winning start-ups will receive a prize of 2,000 euros in cash each and a grant from the Founder Institute Madrid to participate in a four-month acceleration program.
Gudog is a project founded by Loly Garrido, which offers an alternative to dog residencies and puts caregivers in contact with people who need someone to leave to the care of their pet.
Tapp Water, created by Rocío Alcolcer, seeks to minimize the environmental impact of water consumption, promoting the use of tap water to drink with the development of cheap and easy-to-install tap filters.
Finally, Elisa Chamorro is the creator of the WallyBoo platform to facilitate the rental and sale of second-hand goods between individuals for children and babies, reducing the economic effort of families and facilitating access to necessary products in the first years of life .
Through Womenup, Airbnb has given the opportunity to 40 women entrepreneurs from Spain and Portugal to attend the 4YFN event of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), also enjoying an agenda of activities during which to publicize their own projects and be in contact with leaders of their technology sector.
In the case of women entrepreneurs residing outside the province of Barcelona, Airbnb has also provided free accommodation.
