LinkedIn has recently released a network leveraging feature for job seekers. Called "Ask for a Referral", it places a button option next to potential jobs where the individual is linked to a current employee of the company. This button provides an avenue to message and ask for a recommendation.
It comes as no surprise that getting that clutch interview, let alone the job, is often about who your know. Referrals are almost priceless in the job search process when it comes to being pitted against other competitive resumes, and LinkedIn data suggests that individuals are four times as likely to get a reply from a recruiter if you've been referred. Furthermore, almost half of recruiters agree that referrals are a valuable well for meaningful hires.
