New Zealand has an up and coming social media platform that they hope will fill a crucial void in the job hunting industry for students. The platform is called BlackCap, and is something of a mix between Facebook and LinkedIn.
So far, five universities - including University of Auckland and Waikato - and two major companies - telecom Vodafone and counselling hotline Youthline - have signed up for the platform.
Chief executive of BlackCap, Danielle Mathiesen, said they were currently in talks with some international companies and called them "eager to come on board".
"It is very difficult for employers to actually access that talent early," she added.
